From season 7 episode, "The Perfect Pear", Bright Mac and Pear Butter were in love despite familial differences. They knew their respective families would never consent to their union, and worse, Pear Butter is forced to move away with the Pear Clan. They planned to at least have a secret wedding between them, with Mayor Mare, Burnt Oak, and Mrs. Cake (then Chiffon Swirl) bearing witness.
In the end, Pear Butter chooses to stay with Bright Mac and his family, saying that they are her family, too, since she and Bright Mac are now married.
